will speak on
"Moving frames and the evolution of invariants"
In this talk, I will present applications of the Fels-Olver methodology for moving frames to a range of integrable curve flows such as the Korteweg-deVries equation. This approach opens to the door to devising geometric numerical integrators for such systems as wll as to integrable differential-difference systems.
The IMA is sponsoring a workshop this week on Probability and statistics in complex systems: Genomics, networks, and financial engineering. Please contact http://www.ima.umn.edu/~seminar/sched for further information.
