Dennis White's Home Page

Welcome to Dennis White's home page. I am a professor emeritus of mathematics in the School of Mathematics at the University of Minnesota. The picture above was taken in 2015 below Torres del Paine in Patagonia.

My research interests are in enumerative combinatorics, especially tableau theory and permutation statistics. Here are preprints of recent work.

Here are the slides from my "Last Talk" at the University of Minnesota Combinatorics Seminar, November 30, 2012.

Back by popular demand, the "book" I wrote for our math class for el-ed majors.

Personal Information

I retired in 2013 after 40 years at the University of Minnesota.

So it's goodbye to the bus
And it's goodbye to paying dues.
Goodbye to the cheers
And goodbye to the boos.
I'm trading in this old bat
For a brand new fishing pole.
Gonna let that Laughing River
Flow right into my soul.

-Greg Brown
