Steve Lindo - Principal, SRL Advisory services, former Executive Director, Professional Risk Managers' International Association (PRMIA) - gives a tour of the mathematization of investment decisions and risk management which brought the world's financial system to its knees in 2008, tracing its origins, familiar uses and most egregious misuses, concluding with remarks about how to curb Wall Street's self-destructive urges and the role to be played by the prudent use of mathematics in financial markets going forward.
