Applications for Fellowships for Fall 2008 must be complete and received by the School of Mathematics by 15 January 2008.
Note: Fellowships are awarded only after a university-wide competition, to which the Mathematics Department nominates its top candidates. Fellowship awards are quite rare, and the vast majority of our students are supported through Teaching Assistantships. (NOTE: If you are waiting to hear about a fee decision, then the Math Department deadline is 15 January, but we will allow a delay of the Grad School deadline until 23 January.)

Applications for Teaching Assistantships for 2008-09 must be complete and received by the School of Mathematics by 15 February 2008. Assistantships are offered beginning Fall Semester only.

Your application to the Graduate School must be complete (and the fee paid) by 15 February 2008. We make our offers for TAships at the same time as we make our admisssion recommendations to the Graduate School, and this can happen any time after 15 February. If a candidate only has a department application at that time, he or she will not be considered for a TAship.

We typically make our first round of offers around 15 March sometimes making a few additional offers around 7 April. Please note that all major US universities are signers of the April 15 resolution. Signers of this resolution agree that no offer should require a response before 15 April, and we therefore encourage our applicants to wait until at least 15 March before making decisions.

All applicants should receive notification of a final decision by 25 June, but, if you have not received an offer of admission by 20 April, then please be aware that it is very unlikely that we will be able to make one.
