Euler's equations of classical mechanics describe the motion of a rigid body. This is a finite-dimensional problem. Euler's equations of fluid mechanics describe the motion of a perfect fluid. This is an infinite-dimensional problem. I will describe how, formally, the latter can be derived from (a generalization of) the former, as well as the difficulties encountered in justifying this formalism.
