The Immersed Boundary Method (IBM) was developed in the 1970's by Charles Peskin at NYU. This numerical method combines a Lagrangian mesh with a Euclidean mesh to model the motion of an elastic membrane immersed in a fluid. I will give an introduction focusing on the two dimensional version of Stoke's Equation.
