When a group of transformations acts on a space, people like to study objects on that space which behave in a special way with respect to the transformations. There is a clever invention for doing this, called a "moving frame". I'll explain the basics of moving frames, give some historical context and a few applications. Prerequisites will be kept to a minimum.
