Scott Wilson
I will give an introductory talk on intersection chains and intersection homology due to Goresky and MacPherson. This will include necessary definitions, worked out examples, and a statement of some important results and applications. I will end with some remarks on higher algebraic structures of intersection chains, due recently to G. Friedman.
