RHODES SCHOLARSHIP Thirty-two scholarships for two or three years of graduate study at Oxford University in any field. The scholarship pays academic fees plus an allowance to cover round trip fares and personal expenses. Applicants must be graduates under the age of 24 by the start of their year at Oxford. Four criteria govern selection: scholarship, character, leadership, and physical vigor.

MARSHALL SCHOLARSHIP Forty scholarships for two or three years of graduate study at any British university or business school. The scholarship pays air fares, tuition, fees and additional expenses. Applicants must be graduates under the age of 26 by the start of their year in Britain. Scholarships are awarded for academic ability and leadership potential.

MITCHELL SCHOLARSHIP Twelve scholarships for one year of graduate study at any Irish university. The Mitchell scholarship covers air fares, tuition, fees and expenses. Applicants must be graduates under the age of 30 by the start of their year in Ireland. Scholarships are awarded for academic ability and public service.

FULBRIGHT GRANTS Eight hundred scholarships in over 50 countries for one year to support a project, to study or conduct research in graduate school or to teach English as a second language. Graduating seniors are eligible. Scholarships cover round-trip transportation, tuition, books and living expenses. Applicants design their own projects in a specific country, and must represent the United States well. To win this, you need an excellent reason to study or research in a particular country. You also need the academic ability and enough language skill to carry out your project.

GATES CAMBRIDGE SCHOLARSHIPS Numerous scholarships cover between one and four year's graduate study at Cambridge University. It is anticipated that Gates Cambridge Scholars will become leaders in helping to address global problems related to health, equity, technology, and learning.

NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION FELLOWSHIP Eight-hundred-fifty fellowships worth $22,200 plus a cost of education allowance for up to three years of graduate study leading to masters and doctoral degrees in engineering, mathematics and a wide range of sciences. The fellowship can be taken up at any accredited U.S. or foreign academic institution. Green card holders may also apply.

MELLON FELLOWSHIPS Eighty-five first-year doctoral students receive tuition, required fees for the first year of graduate study, and a stipend of $17,500 to prepare for career of teaching and scholarship in humanistic disciplines. Fellows may take their awards to any graduate program in the United States or Canada.

JAVITS FELLOWSHIPS Seventy-five renewable fellowships, worth up to $32,300 for up to four years graduate study leading to a doctorate or MFA degree in the humanities, social sciences and arts. The award can be used at any U.S. institution of higher education.

CHURCHHILL SCHOLARSHIP Up to $27,000 for one year of graduate study in engineering, mathematics, and the physical and natural sciences at Churchill College, Cambridge University. This is an incredible opportunity to pursue a one-year taught-masters from one of the world's most

PAUL AND DAISY SOROS FELLOWSHIPS FOR NEW AMERICANS Thirty scholarships for up to two years of graduate study in any field. Applicants must be either holders of Green Cards, naturalized citizens, or children of two naturalized citizen parents. Fellowship awards half tuition and $20,000 maintenance, annually.

THE ST. ANDREW'S SOCIETY These scholarships provide funding for one year of study at a Scottish university. Three competitions are for seniors and one competition is for sophomores. Some Scottish descent is required for the senior competitions; the sophomore competition does not require Scottish heritage.

BARRY M. GOLDWATER SCHOLARSHIPS Three hundred renewable, research scholarships of up to $7,500 for outstanding sophomores and juniors in mathematics, the natural sciences and engineering. Green card holders may also apply.

MORRIS K. UDALL SCHOLARSHIPS Scholarships for sophomores and juniors of up to $5,000 for one year; thirty honorable mentions for $350. These scholarships are awarded to students who research or work with the environment. A separate scholarship is awarded to Native American or Alaskan Native students planning careers in health care and public policy.

JACK KENT COOKE SCHOLARSHIPS Forty renewable scholarships of up to $30,000 annually for high achieving sophomores or juniors who also participate in extracurricular activities and demonstrate leadership potential. Separate graduate scholarships for up to $50,000 are awarded annually to students from Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia.

HARRY S. TRUMAN SCHOLARSHIPS Eighty scholarships for juniors who demonstrate an outstanding capacity for public service to include: academics, leadership, and community service. The scholarship covers expenses for the senior year and graduate school up to $30,000.

BEINECKE BROTHERS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS Twenty scholarships worth $32,000 for juniors to apply toward graduate study in the arts, humanities, and social sciences (not law school) for students who have a demonstrated financial need.

ROTARY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS Three types of Rotary Scholarships are awarded annually: Academic-year, multi-year, and cultural ambassador. The academic scholarships are for any field of study in any country where Rotary clubs are located. The cultural ambassador scholarships are for language acquisition and a cultural experience.
