MCFAM Financial Mathematics Mid-Winter Networking Event

To All Industry Practitioners from the Local/Regional Quantitative Finance and Capital Markets sector:

We cordially invite you to join us at the Minnesota Center for Financial and Actuarial Mathematics (MCFAM) and our Master of Finanical Mathematics (MFM) students for a Reception and Keynote Speaker who will talk about the Evolution of Quants and their Critical Role in the Post-2008 Financial World. We look forward to getting you together with old and new colleagues as well as our students. Our objective in this second annual event is to gather a broad range of professionals from the local quantitative finance sector for an evening of networking, learning and mentoring. We look forward to seeing you on 2/28/12 as we continue strengthening the bonds between the University, our MFM students and all of you in Minnesota's diverse local quantitative financial community.

KEYNOTE SPEECH The Evolution of Quants & Their Critical Role in the Post 2008 Financial Landscape Dr. Miranda will cover his experience as a quant, how he entered the profession and what he has learned along the way about the critical role that quantitative and mathematical professionals have in our post-2008 Financial Crisis world. He will explore the many players involved in the Crisis, some lessons learned, and next steps for all quantitative financial practitioners in this "not to miss" talk.
