“Symplectic birational geometry”
Yongbin Ruan, University of Michigan

Abstract:
It has been known for a while that part of Mori's birational geometry program in algebraic geometry can be generalized to symplectic geometry. But the general speculation of a “symplectic” birational geometry has gone unanswered for more than ten years. In this talk, we present a general framework for such a symplectic birational geometry. I will also talk about some key results such as birational invariance of uniruledness. This is a joint work with Tian-Jun Li.
