Activate Mathematica on your computer
(Here I activate Mathematica 7.0.1 on a Windows machine.)
Suppose you have successfully downloaded and installed Mathematica from the CSE lab websites ( http://cselabs.umn.edu/software ). Now you’ll need to register a license to activate Mathematica.
You’ll need 3 sets of numbers to activate Mathematica :
1. License number - Everyone has the same license number. It’s L3226-5018 .
2. Math ID - Different computers have different Math ID. Math ID will show up automatically after you input your License numbers. Mine, for example, is 6202-90864-07505.
3. Passwords - After you find out your Math ID, continue here http://register.wolfram.com/ to register. Then you’ll receive an email like the following. In this example my password is 3758-887-822:8,8,16,16:5:20110701 .
