The point here is to efficiently emulate in java a
suitably chosen small sublanguage of TeX in a nice way. The applet called by
this page reads a URL containing TeX source (using a very small subset
of TeX only), and parses and typesets it. Background color, type size,
width, and height can be specified. It's not beautiful, but it's
cheap, easy, and it works right now . Look at the
source for this page to see how to invoke this applet. The TeX source
it's typsetting is visible at
