My book's statements concerning the Arithmetica cipher
were (accidentally) misleading, in part possibly making the
length attack appear stronger than it probably is.
At most I should have said that it was UNCLEAR what
impact the length attack would have on parameter settings, etc., in
the cipher.
The University of Minnesota explicitly requires that I
state that "The views and opinions expressed in this page are
strictly those of the page author. The contents of this page have not
been reviewed or approved by the University of Minnesota."
