NEWS Nov 22: Gradelines for Test 3, and some early information
about time and location for the Final Exam.

    Old News.

A list of problems suggested as practice for the Final:

8.6: 1 - 9 (odd) and 2.

8.7: 1 - 6. Do #9 "in your head."

8.11: 1 - 3, and 5, chosen randomly, from 4 - 18 (except #14, which was done in class).

8.12: 1 - 9.

Remarks: MWF we will cover 8.11 and 8.12. You might want to
review section 1.3! Also, it would help you to read 8.11
and 8.12 again a few times. The IDEAS that are there are what you
might need to know later; then you'll remember where to look.

More problems to use for review:
1.1: 7 - 16.
1.2: 6 - 20, 25
1.3: read the section; 15 (once-over), 17 - 24 (some).
1.4: 1 - 11 (some), 18.
1.5: 1 - 8.
1.6: 1 - 14 (some).
1.7: 1 - 8.
Note: We did not cover 1.8 - 1.13. A glance at these sections
might be a good idea, because they might be useful to you later.
Sec. 1.13, especially, might be good as a different "take" on 8.11
and 8.12.
2.1: All. By now, these should be easy!
2.3: 1 - 12.
2.4: 1 - 19.
2.5: 1 - 11 (some).
2.7: None, but you might want to glance at this section
for a different "take" on 8.7.
3.1: All. By now, these should be easy!
3.2: 1 - 20 (some, and again, some).
3.3: Look at all, to see if you need to do any for review.
3.4: 1 - 8 (look at); 9 - 25. 3.5: At least one from each "block" of problems.
3.6: 1 - 22 (but work the ones you choose in your own way).
4.4: 1 - 12 (some).
5.1: All. By now, these should be easy!
5.2: 1 - 7, 9 - 14 (read them and do them in your head).
5.3: 3 - 24 (several!).
5.4: 4 - 10, 13 - 18.
5.5: Do as many as you need to from 1 - 32, and two from 33 - 37.
5.6: 1 - 22, and read the others quickly.

Here are the gradelines for Test 3:

The gradelines for
