You should have completed your reading of Sections 1 -- 25 by now
and you should be reading Sections 28 -- 35 (Chapter 3) and letting
me know what I really need to be spending class time on. And you should
be reading your class notes and the handout on power series. There is
no real need to be reading in Chapter 5, but maybe you should skim in
case some of it would be useful.

Test 1 is October 15, a Friday, not the date in the Syllabus!
Questions will be drawn from Homework and Special Problems 1 and 2.
Questions will include stating Definitions or Theorems.
But "proof" will mean doing a computation and saying why it does
what you say it does.

NEWS Oct 3: A handout on differentating power series has been posted.

NEWS Sept 30: The assignment sheet HAS been updated, as well
as this Web page...

NEWS Sept 29: The assignment sheet has NOT been updated.
I'm still having connection problems -- so I'm putting the new assignment
here instead, for the moment, possibly using an old version of this page.
It'll be corrected ASAP. Assignment due Oct 6: Sec 22 # 10 pp 69-70;
Sec 24 # 1, 2, 6 ppp73-74; Sec 25 # 7 p 79.

NEWS Sept 27: Special Problem 2, due Oct 4, has been added to Assignments
and posted.

NEWS Sept 24: Sec 5 #15 (Assgt 1) and Sec 7 # 9, 10, Sec 9 #7 and
Sec 10 #4 (Assgt 2) were scored. The total possible was 25.
A link has been added below to a list of TeX codes for mathematical symbols.

NEWS Sept 22: Updated Assignments are posted.
A solution of Special Problem 1is posted.

NEWS Sept 17: We have a grader! Homework Assignments 1 and 2 are
due Wednesday Sept 22, Special Problem 1 on Monday Sept 20.

NEWS Sept 15: Assignments have been updated.
Special Problem 0 is optional; its score will replace
the lowest score on the other Special Problems.
