TIPS FOR STUDYING FOR THE FINAL EXAM:

Among the resources available to you, you may want to include the following in your study materials:
  • homeworks
  • quiz solutions
  • midterm solutions
  • midterm review sheets
  • extra class notes (on website)
  • class notes (that you took during lecture)
  • the book
  • YOUR OWN QUIZZES AND MIDTERM EXAM PAPERS: these will be useful to study along with the quiz and midterm solutions to correct the misunderstandings in your OWN knowledge, and to be aware of what types of mistakes you tend to make. I think you will learn a lot from seeing what kinds of mistakes you used to make, or how you used to think things worked, before you had more experience with them.

Extra Classnotes: (for now, some notes from Fall 2005)

Taking Derivatives In these notes, I do the "long" derivative problem I started in class, and explain the technique more clearly.

Optimization Problems These include the possibility of open intervals, and provide an all-inclusive step-by-step algorithm for doing those problems.

Quiz Solutions:

Quiz solutions will most likely be posted on Walter's website. However I'm sure the following applies to his solutions as well:

"You should look over the solutions in depth, and try to write them down again on your own, using mine as a guide. If you understand all of the detail in my solutions, you should be in good shape."

More to come... keep checking back!
