The Heegaard Floer homology package of invariants for
low-dimensional manifolds has proven extremely successful in solving
problems
where previous attempts have failed. This talk will focus on some new
results
along these lines with special attention paid to the smooth knot concordance
group. I will give sample results in this context for pretzel knots. Time
permitting
I will also explain how this relates to new information about the cobordism
group
of integral homology 3-spheres.
