Title: Energetic Variational Approaches:
Free Interface Motions in Fluids & Viscoelasticity
Abstract: The most common origin of anomalous phenomena
in complex fluids are different "elastic" effects.
From the point of view of energetic variational approaches,
this is reflected by the competitions between the kinetic energy
and the elastic energies, through specific kinematic transport
properties. Here we will discuss two such problems. We will focus
on the underlying variational structures of these systems and present
the analytical (open) problems and results.
