0-Hecke algebra actions on polynomials

Abstract

The 0-Hecke algebra is an interesting deformation of the group algebra of the symmetric group. I will talk about its actions on the polynomial ring and certain quotient rings, and discuss some examples whose characters give the noncommutative Hall-Littlewood functions introduced by Bergeron and Zabrocki.
