Summer 2011 REU
School of Mathematics
University of Minnesota

Gregg Musiker, Pasha Pylyavskyy, Vic Reiner, Dennis Stanton

We plan to offer an REU program in combinatorics in the summer of 2010, here at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.

Application Deadline: Thursday, February 17, 2011

We expect at least 5-7 participants to spend 8 weeks in residence sometime between May 29, 2011 and August 5, 2011. Stipend support in the recent past has been approximately $3500, and may be more this summer.

To participate, students must have not yet completed their undergraduate degree by summer 2011.
To receive the full stipend, students need to be a US citizen or a green card holder.
However non-citizens may still apply, and can be reimbursed for University dorm room and meal plan costs as well as reasonable travel expenses up to $700.

How to apply. Please send or have sent, by Thursday, February 17, 2011, the following material, preferably via email
(musiker@math.umn.edu, pylyavskyy@gmail.com, reiner@math.umn.edu, stanton@math.umn.edu)
but surface mail is OK:

Potential projects. The projects in this REU come from combinatorics. Some indication of the potential topics can be gleaned from some of the previous REU work at Reiner's REU page.
