I am the faculty advisor for IT Freshman Team I this year (1999/2000).

When (and how) to make an appointment.

IT students in Lower Division must meet with a faculty advisor (or sometimes a grad student advisor) each quarter before registering. You may need to meet with an advisor at some other times also. This could be because you're having some kind of academic difficulty, or because you're thinking about some significant change in your program, or for various other reasons. In any of these cases, you can arrange an appointment by going to the IT Lower Division Office in Lind Hall 128 or by calling the office at 612-624-2890.

• Tutorial services

  1. Your professor's and TA's office hours
     They are the first people to ask if something about the course seems confusing. If the time and days aren't listed on the course syllabus, ask them for this info. It the syllabus says "or by appointment", then you can arrange an alternative time if the regular time doesn't fit your schedule.
      
  2. Lind Hall 150
     Walk-in service for help with IT subjects (math, physics, chemistry). Your questions will be answered by Upper Division IT students and by TA's connected to the relevant departments.
     Fall 2000 hours are approximately 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. MWTh, 9 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. Tu, and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. F.
     These hours are subject to change, so check at Lind 128 or Lind 150 for the most current schedule.
      
  3. Lind Hall 128
     Make an appointment for a tutoring session with an upper division IT student
      
  4. Tutorial service for Math 2243 and Math 2263 in Vincent 116.
     Fall 2000 hours:    During the following class periods:
     Mondays: 12:20, 1:25 p.m., 2:30 p.m.;     Tuesdays: 9:05, 11:15, 1:25 p.m., 2:30 p.m.;     Wednesdays: 11:15, 12:20;     Thursdays: 9:05, 11:15, 1:25 p.m., 2:30 p.m.;     Fridays: 11:15, 12:20
     At other hours, go to Lind 150.
      
  5. Dormitories
     Tutors are available during evening hours -- usually between 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. but not every day at the folloring dorms:
     Bailey, Centennial, Comstock, Fronties, Middlebrook, Pioneer, Sanford, and Territorial.
     Check at the dorm or Lind 128 for specific days. You don't need to live in a dorm to use this service.
