A hyperboloid of two sheets

This figure shows a finite portion of a hyperboloid of two sheets. The hyperboloid of two sheets is a non-ruled quadric surface, i.e. a surface of degree 2 that does not contain an infinite family of lines. In fact, there are no lines on this surface.

I made the figure on this page by substituting my own data in a Geometry Center webpage.
