Suggested Problems on the Material Covered in class October 1-6

This problem set will not be collected, but will be covered by the Midterm on October 10.

Reading: Syllabus. Text: Read Chapter 1, skim the Appendix to Chapter 1, and read Chapter 2.

Problems: Chapter 2: 15, 16, 17, 20, 22.

Problem A: Show that the definition of a disconnected set in the textbook is equivalent to our definition, which uses open sets for sepration.
