10/1/21: I would like to replace the Monday, October 4, course meeting
with my Zoom talk on Rational homotopy theory and mysterious
duality at (belive it or not)
the First
International Congress on Topology and Related Topics, which will
be happening on Zoom in Lima, Perú. My Zoom talk will be from
4:00 to 4:50 p.m. our CDT time. It will be a good (?) overview of what
will be coming at the end of the course, but the material of my talk
will not be needed to go on with the course. So, it is up to you
whether you want to attend my talk. There are other talks you may wish
to attend. For example, our own Craig Westerland will be talking there
5-5:50 p.m. The congress will be running Monday through Thursday, 9
a.m. - 6:50 p.m. CDT. Here is the Zoom link:

9/20/21: I am chaging the timing of my Monday office hours slightly
from 1:30-2:20 to 1:25-2:15 to adjust them better to how things are
run at the U. I do not know why I had the 1:30 time in the first
place. Perhaps, just a clerical error on my part.
9/15/21: I would like to switch my Thursday office hours (2:30-3:20)
to Zoom until further notice. I will send you a link via a Google
Calendar invitation. I would also like to change my Wednesday office
hours to 2:30-3:20.
9/10: The Syllabus is now posted, see the course web page.
9/10: I have started writing Class Outlines, see the course web
page. Still working on the Syllabus.
9/10: I encourage those of you who have not registered to register
for the course, unless it you have special circumstances, such as it
will cost you money or change your student status, etc. If you need to
register for this course and the system prevents you from doing that,
please send a message to Stephanie Lawson
at ugrad@math.umn.edu and ask for a permission number. If
permission is granted, go to OneStop and register.
