   Compactifications of Moduli Space

Abstract: I will give a brief introduction into the topic of cellular
decompositions of the moduli space of Riemann surfaces and their
compactifications. I will describe a modification of Looijenga's
compactification of the combinatorial moduli space (the space of
ribbon graphs) and show that it is homeomorphic to a decorated
Deligne-Mumford moduli space. I will also construct a combinatorial
solution to the Quantum Master Equation in Topological Conformal Field
Theory.
