Dennis White's Home Page

Welcome to Dennis White's home page. I am a professor of mathematics in the School of Mathematics at the University of Minnesota. The picture above was taken in 2012 on the Columbia Glacier in Canada.

My research interests are in enumerative combinatorics, especially tableau theory and permutation statistics. Here are preprints of recent work.

Here are the slides from my recent talk at the University of Minnesota Combinatorics Seminar.

Back by popular demand, the "book" I wrote for our math class for el-ed majors.

Current Courses

I am not teaching this semester.

Personal Information

I will be retired as of June 30, 2013.

So it's goodbye to the bus
And it's goodbye to paying dues.
Goodbye to the cheers
And goodbye to the boos.
I'm trading in this old bat
For a brand new fishing pole.
Gonna let that Laughing River
Flow right into my soul.
