Abstract
In the last two decades, the optimization community has witnessed some spectacular advances in interior point methods and robust optimization. These advances have recently started to significantly impact various fields of applied sciences and engineering where computational efficiency is essential. In this talk, I will give a brief introduction to the field of convex optimization and describe its application in signal processing and communication using various examples.
